Eight employers across the province are being recognized this week for
their outstanding commitment to their staff and their community.
Most Referred Real
Estate Agents was honored Wednesday by the provincially funded Job Wave
BC program for constantly providing a great work environment and internal
opportunities for employees.
Most Referred Real
Estate Agents is a real estate technology company that produces, maintains
and markets web sites from over 5,000 realtors in over 2,600 markets across
the United States and Canada. Founded in 1997, Most Referred has grown
from 18 to 45 staff and is looking to hire 15 more over the next year.
We've been working
with a number of job agencies to find staff, said (President) Glenn Davies,
I guess the folks there have been getting reports back from people about
how we do business. I guess they've had reports from people who didn't
get hired who said they wanted to receive referrals if something came
up again.
Davies gave a lot
of credit to Joan Wild in the human resources department and Ken Galpin,
CEO, for developing good strategies for finding and retaining staff.
We've set the
tone of what the culture is in the office and we're pretty proud of what
we've achieved, he said. The contribution our small business employers
make to the province in invaluable. Together employers and JobWave have
made it possible for over 28,000 British Columbians to find full-time
employment.
Employers are
the backbone of B.C. communities, explains Darlene Bailey of JobWave
BC. Join us in recognizing the dedication of these small business heroes
who help build our dynamic communities.
JobWave works closely
with employers to combine free HR services, post-placement support and
remote assistance. JobWave is funded by the Ministry of Human Resources
and partners with the BC Chamber of Commerce and 43 B.C. chambers.
