The "Gem State", Idaho (pop: 1,393,262) is located inland in the Pacific Northwest and is a state abundant with natural resources. The state's capital and largest city is Boise. Nampa, the state's second largest city, has experienced particularly strong growth in recent years.

Since the late 1970s, Boise has emerged as a center for semiconductor manufacturing - major companies like Dell, Micron and HP are now a part of the Idaho economy.
